چکیده
Abstract Quasi-zero-stiffness (QZS) vibration isolators have been widely studied, because they show excellent high static and low dynamic stiffnesses can effectively solve low-frequency ultralow-frequency vibration. However, traditional QZS (T-QZS) usually adopt linear damping, owing to which achieving good isolation performance at both frequencies is difficult. T-QZS exhibit hardening stiffness characteristics, their even worse than that of under a large excitation amplitude. Therefore, this study proposes isolator with shear-thinning viscous damper (SVD) improve the isolators. The force-velocity relation SVD obtained, model established for isolator. responses system are solved using harmonic balance method (HBM) Runge-Kutta method. evaluated force transmissibility, parameters analyzed. results compared isolators, proposed QZS-SVD achieves lower initial frequency peak value, exhibits better medium frequencies. Moreover, withstand amplitude in effective range.

Advanced damper with negative structural stiffness elements
Negative stiffness is understood as the occurrence of a force in the same direction as the imposed deformation. Structures and composites with negative stiffness elements enable a large amplification in damping. It is shown in this work, using an experimental approach, that when a flexible flat-ends column is aligned in a post-buckled condition, a negative structural stiffness and large hystere...
متن کاملPerformance comparison between an MRF damper and an MRE isolator incorporated with a building structure
As an important member of smart materials, magnetorheological elastomers (MREs) exhibit characteristics that their modulus can be controlled by an external magnetic field. Based on these experimental results, a viscoelastic solid model with four parameters was proposed to predict the performance of MRE. A building model, three stories high, was constructed using MATLAB SIMULINK to evaluate the ...

In some aerospace vehicles, the tracking sensors which act in a tracking loop as stabilizer are mounted on a two degree of freedom gyro. The gyro must align its rotor axis with the line of sight in order to remove tracking errors. The tracking precision and sensitivity are functions of the gyros performance. One of the main factors in reducing the precision and producing instabilities is nutati...
متن کاملBehaviour of Base-Isolated Structures with High Initial Isolator Stiffness
Analytical seismic response of multi-story building supported on base isolation system is investigated under real earthquake motion. The superstructure is idealized as a shear type flexible building with lateral degree-of-freedom at each floor. The force-deformation behaviour of the isolation system is modelled by the bi-linear behaviour which can be effectively used to model all isolation syst...
متن کاملVariable stiffness and damping MR isolator
This paper presents the development of a magnetorheological (MR) fluid-based variable stiffness and damping isolator for vibration suppressions. The MR fluid isolator used a sole MR control unit to achieve the variable stiffness and damping in stepless and relative large scope. A mathematical model of the isolator was derived, and a prototype of the MR fluid isolator was fabricated and its dyna...
